Animal Fouling

We are responsible for keeping designated areas of council land clear of dog fouling and where appropriate other types of fouling.

Dog fouling in particular causes health risks, so it's important owners are responsible for their pets by:

  • Cleaning up every time the dog fouls
  • Disposing the waste in dog bins or your own household bin
  • Not allowing dogs to roam unattended

If dog fouling is witnessed, there is a fixed penalty notice fine of £100.

If you need to report animal fouling or witness someone letting their dog foul without clearing it up, please click on the report button below. Our Local Services or Enforcement Team will consider your request and update it with the relevant action to be taken.
