Animal Fouling
We are responsible for keeping designated areas of council land clear of dog fouling and where appropriate other types of fouling.
You can help stop dog fouling by:
- Cleaning up every time your dog fouls
- Disposing of your dog fouling in public bins or your own household bin
- Stopping your dog roaming unattended
- Reporting dog fouling whether or not it has been witnessed
If dog fouling is witnessed or you do not comply with the Public Space Protection Order (PSPO), you may receive a £100 fixed penalty notice or face prosecution. For more information click here
Reporting animal fouling
Before you start you will need:
✅Accurate location details of the fouling
✅Council Customer Account to track your request (optional)
If you have witnessed the fouling you will need if possible:
✅ Description of the dog
✅ Description of the owner
✅ Description of the vehicle
✅ Date, time and location of the fouling
Please click on the report button below and our Local Services or Enforcement Team will consider your request and update it with the relevant action to be taken.

If you witness dog fouling, we will need as much information as possible to help with the investigation. We will ask you for your details in case we need further information. This is optional and you can remain anonymous.
