What are your thoughts on vacant land at Cato Street?
We want to know your ideas for vacant land at Cato Street
Our team at Southwick Altogether Raising Aspirations (SARA), based in Austin House, is working with our partners to bring vacant land at Cato Street back into use for the local community.
The land hasn't been used for over 20 years so we are giving Southwick residents the opportunity to decide what they would like the land to be used for. You can also be involved in designing and mucking in to turn the disused land into a site which can be used by Southwick residents and community groups.
The location of Cato Street land is shown below:
Working with Southwick Primary School children
We visited school children at Southwick Primary to see what ideas they had for the land. The children would like to have a community garden and orchard where they can learn to grow fruit and veg with their school, family and friends then take it home to eat. They would also like water walls, mud kitchens, a tree house and a space to sit and read a book or do their homework in the community garden.
Soon you will see the school children's designs on posters around Southwick. Find us on social media @LetsTalkSARA to see more of their designs.
