Sunderland College - Highstreet Deals

Who is this course for?

This course is for 19+ adults who would like to develop their everyday maths skills. It will support you to understand the current financial climate, highlighting value for money deals available locally and online whist developing your maths skills.

What will I learn on the course?

• Investigate local high street deals
• Calculate the best/worst savings across a range of products sourced locally
• Are online deals better than deals on the high street?
• Food shopping - are you really saving money?
• Utilities - how much is it costing you? Is your bill correct?

How will I learn?

Your tutor will use a range of activities, discussions and tasks to help you to develop your maths skills and recognise value for money offers on the high street. The sessions will be delivered in a relaxed and friendly environment where you will meet other students who are also developing their maths skills. There is no formal assessment or exam.

What next, after the course?

You will be able to progress onto further maths qualifications.
