Who is this course for?

Those who want to develop skills in using maths within the workplace, supporting a better understanding of calculations such as percentages, decimal places.

What will I learn on the course?

• Using positive and negative numbers
• Working with decimal places, fractions and percentages
• Calculate compound interest, using formulas and rounding numbers
• Calculate shapes and sizes, working with 2D and 3D shapes
• Understanding the mean, median and mode and apply these calculations
• Use maths to solve problems, calculate outcomes and measure tolerance levels
• Understand probability and using two-way tables

How will I learn?

Your tutor will use a range of activities, discussions and tasks to help you to develop your maths skills and recognise value for money offers on the high street. The sessions will be delivered in a relaxed and friendly environment where you will meet other students who are also developing their maths skills. There is no formal assessment or exam.

What next, after the course?

Move on to a functional maths qualification.
