Gambling

The Gambling Act 2005 (the Act) extended the council's responsibilities to include the licensing of premises where gambling takes place and the issuing of permits for other gambling.

We have produced guidance on the Act regarding what kind of permits or licences may be required.

Statement of principles

The council is required to produce a statement of principles which sets out how we intend to administer the Act.

The revised statement of principles was published on 31 December 2021 and came into effect on 31 January 2022.
