Planning shapes the places where we live, work, and socialise. It improves the social, economic and natural environment of communities.

The Council are currently consulting on the Draft Planning Obligations Supplementary Planning Document (SPD) and the International Advanced Manufacturing Park Area Action Plan (Regulation 19) documents as detailed below.

Both consultations start on 31 March 2025 and close on Monday 12 May 2025.

We welcome your views. All representations should be made in writing to planningpolicy@sunderland.gov.uk or Planning Policy Team, Sunderland City Council, Sunderland City Hall, Plater Way, Sunderland, SR1 3AA.

Paper copies of the SPD and AAP are also available to view at Sunderland City Hall, Plater Way.

All representations received will be taken into consideration.
