Mayoral engagements

Monday 25 November 2024

The Mayor and Consort will attend the Digital Health Hub's celebration event at 10am which is being held in the Council Chamber, City Hall, Plater Way, Sunderland. The Mayor will congratulate and present achievement certificates to the volunteers who have given their time to support those digitally excluded within the community.

The Deputy Mayor will attend the Age UK Sunderland Black History Month celebrations at the Grand Hotel, Seaburn, Sunderland at 11am.  The Deputy Mayor will join Age UK in celebrating their positive interracial relationship and partnership working with the African Caribbean community in the city and network with those in attendance. 

The Mayor and Consort will take over from the Deputy Mayor at the Age UK Sunderland Black History Month celebrations at the Grand Hotel, Seaburn, Sunderland at 12.30pm. 

Tuesday 26 November 2024

The Mayor and Consort will attend the Sunderland v West Bromwich football match, which is being held at the Stadium of Light, Sunderland. Kick-off is at 8pm. 

Wednesday 27 November 2024

The Mayor and Consort will attend the University of Sunderland's Winter Graduation Brunch at 8.45am which is being held in the Riverview Brasserie, Stadium of Light, Sunderland. The Mayor will congratulate honorary awardees Michael Ganley, Founder of the Sunderland AFC Fans Museum, and Don Airey, Deep Purple musician.

Thursday 28 November 2024

The Mayor and Consort will officially open the City Hall Christmas Fayre at 11.30am which is being held in the Council Chamber, City Hall, Sunderland. The Mayor will greet and engage with stall holders and visitors.
The Mayor and Consort will attend the Easington Lane Christmas Switch On which will be taking place on the High Street in Easington Lane town centre at 4.40pm. The Mayor will switch on the Christmas tree lights to start the Christmas festivities. 

The Mayor and Consort will support the Chair of Brandon and Byshottles Town Council at his Charity Evening at 7pm which is being held at Browney Social Club, Browney Lane, Browney DH7 8HT. All proceeds from the evening will be donated to the Chairs chosen charity Handcrafted.

Friday 29 November 2024

The Mayor and Consort will attend the Southwick Christmas Switch On event at 3.15pm. A procession will commence at Southwick Community Primary School, where the Mayor and Consort will walk with the choir children to Southwick Green. The Mayor will then officially switch on the Christmas tree lights and illuminations to start the Christmas festivities. 

The Mayor and Consort will support the Mayor of Spennymoor at his Charity Race Night at 7pm which is being held at the Neil Adams Sports Bar, Spennymoor Town Football Club. All proceeds from the evening will be donated to the Mayor of Spennymoor's chosen charities, Spennymoor Learning Library and Gurkha Welfare Trust.

Saturday 30 November 2024

The Deputy Mayor will support the Chair of North Tyneside at his Charity Race Evening at 7pm which is being held at Rockcliffe Rugby Club, Loraine Ave, Whitley Bay NE25 8RW. All proceeds from the evening will be donated to the Chair's chosen charity Acorns.

Sunday 1 December 2024

The Mayor and Consort will attend the annual Christmas Presence Service at 5.45pm which will be held in St Peter's Church, Monkwearmouth, SR6 0DY. The Mayor will deliver a short speech and take along donations for the church's Christmas collection for children, and families in need.
