Landlord Roadshow
On Thursday 10 March we are hosting a roadshow for landlords and letting agents who own and rent out properties in the East area of the city. The East area includes the wards and areas of Doxford, Hendon and East End, Millfield, Deptford, Ryhope, Grangetown, Ashbrooke and Thornholme.
The event will be at the new City Hall in the city centre and will provide the opportunity to find out more about:
- current progress on the housing strategy
- the Landlord Accreditation and Leasing schemes
- services and support for landlords and residents, including grants for energy efficiency, advice on Universal Credit and vetting tenants
You will also be able to meet and talk to the Housing Team, tell us how we are doing and how you would like us to support you in the future.

Refreshments will be available.
A variety of speakers will talk about a range of topics that will be both useful and supportive to landlords. The interactive event will give you the opportunity to ask questions and have discussions with a range of providers including:

- Joanne Cooper, Back on the Map - a landlords perspective
- Sonya Ridley, Department of Work and Pension - Universal Credit
- Graeme Stephenson, Sunderland City Council - heating and insulation grants
- Ben Holmes, Sunderland City Council - Landlord Accreditation Scheme
- Julie Charles, Sunderland City Council - tackling nuisance tenants and anti-social behaviour
- Environmental Health team, Sunderland City Council - housing standards and enforcement
