Mayor's fundraising

Another important role of the Mayor, a one the Mayor is always very passionate about, is to support a few local charities and good causes.

Each Year the Mayor promotes their chosen charities and good causes and raises funds for them by hosting charity events throughout their year in office.

The Mayor for 2022-23, Councillor Alison Smith is supporting Downhill Community Pond and Garden, Friends of Bunnyhill and Hope 4 All, all of which are working towards making their local community a better place to live.

Last year's Mayor Cllr Henry Trueman raised £12,202.00 for The Special Lioness and Hug in a Bag.  To have raised this much money in the short amount of time Cllr Trueman had due to Covid-19 restrictions limiting the number of events he was able to host is phenomenal. Well done Cllr Trueman.
