We are shocked and saddened by current events in Ukraine. We are aware residents may want to offer their support.
How you can help
If you would like to make a cash donation to support those affected, below is a list of organisations and links for their pages where donations can be made.
The government has launched two housing schemes to enable Ukrainian refugees to come to the UK.
The Ukraine Scheme is specifically for Ukrainians who have family members here and wish to join them.
Homes for Ukraine has been set up to support those without family ties.
The first stage of the scheme is for individuals who wish to provide accommodation to other individuals. You can register for the scheme now at Homes for Ukraine Campaign (GOV.UK).
Details about how these support schemes will operate are still being developed by the government and we would ask for your patience while we await this further information. If you register an interest you will receive further guidance from the Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities on the approval processes involved, the requirements you will need to meet and the support you will receive.
Future stages of the scheme will allow organisations to offer accommodation to groups.
